Carrie W. Mauterer, D.D.S.
A self proclaimed “enamel hugger”, Dr. Carrie is honored to help her patients attain a high level of health, beauty and well-being. She states, “My goal for all of my patients is to help them understand all of their options. I talk with every one of my patients about their health, their needs, their busy lives and their financial concerns and we find solutions together that suit each individual patient”.
If you hear singing, it is no doubt Dr. Carrie serenading the children who grace her chair. It not only calms our kiddos but in many cases you will hear the children humming along as they are coached through their appointments. Her repertoire ranges from Sesame Street songs to Star Wars’s Imperial March depending on the song requests of her patient.
Born in Evanston, Illinois, Dr. Carrie lived North of Chicago throughout her youth.
During her studies at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Mauterer was heavily involved in many leadership positions including class president for two years and president of her school’s American Student Dental Association chapter.
Dr. Carrie is a prominent figure in the Colorado dental community and is an advocate for building a strong healthcare community. She was honored to be awarded fellowships in both the Pierre Fauchard Society and the International College of Dentists. For four years she served the local Metropolitan Denver Dental Society (MDDS) board. While serving as the editor of the Articulator Magazine, she published dozens of her editorials and won two awards from the International College of Dentists for her editorial work . She has served the American Dental Association in the positions of Alternate Delegate and Delegate (elected by her peers) for a few years now. She currently chairs the MDDS outreach committee, she is a trainer for The Cavity Free at 3 Program, and is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Colorado Dental Association (CDA), and the Metro Denver Dental Society (MDDS). She was awarded MDDS Volunteer of the Year award in 2013 and the MDDS Chair of the Year award in 2017.
She is honored to have been recognized by her peers as a 5280 Top Dentist from 2011-2107!
Dr. Carrie is married to her husband Jason who is a custom woodworker. They are the proud parents of five boys as well as proud chicken tenders of 8 hens. There are also 3 bunny rabbits and one cat mixed into their home life cacophony. In her free time (what’s that?!?) she enjoys reading, gardening, and being outdoors with her family.
Erica A. Derby, D.D.S.
A critical thinker, Dr. Derby prides herself in spending time with each of her patients, thoroughly explaining upcoming procedures and recommendations while making sure to answer and explain any dental questions they have.
Dr. Derby states, “I strive to give my patients a quick, easy, and comfortable experience. I want to finish treating them before they even know I’ve started!”
A Colorado native, Dr. Derby was born in Sterling and lived in the northeast corner of Colorado until her graduation from Sterling High School.
After graduating from The University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Derby spent a year as a General Dental Resident at the University of Colorado Health Science Center. It was here that she was able to get extensive training in all the areas of General Dentistry, which included pediatrics, prosthodontics, oncology, emergency care and more. She took special interest in the area of oral surgery, extractions, as well as the surgical extraction of wisdom teeth.
She currently is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Colorado Dental Association (CDA), and the Metro Denver Dental Society (MDDS). She also was elected by her peers for the honor of being a Pierre Fauchard Fellow.
Dr. Derby has been recognized by her peers as a 5280 Top Thornton Dentist for seven years standing: 2010-2017!
Dr. Derby married her college sweetheart, and they have two beautiful daughters. In her spare time, she takes pleasure in skiing, golfing, mountain biking, cooking and reading.
Kristin Lere, D.D.S
Dr. Lere’s goal is to provide comprehensive treatment while delivering outstanding dentistry specific to her patient’s individual needs and concerns.
From North Dakota, Dr. Lere moved to Colorado to attend The University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, which hosts strong clinical programs that emphasize research supported dental techniques.
Following graduation from The University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Lere completed a post doctoral residency program at The Audie Murphy Veteran Affairs Advanced Education, located in San Antonio, Texas; there she received advanced training in IV sedation, implant dentistry, and complex case management.
After practicing in Texas for several years Dr. Lere returned to beautiful Colorado.
She enjoys running, biking, knitting and spending time with her family and friends, especially her husband, her two precious baby boys, and her dogs. Dr. Lere is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Colorado Dental Association (CDA), and the Metro Denver Dental Society (MDDS).
Veronica (“Ronnie”) Matthews, D.D.S.
Dr. Ronnie Matthews was born and raised in Nelson, New Zealand where the Southern Alps meet the ocean. Although she has lived in the States for eight years, you may notice her friendly Kiwi accent around the office. Dr. Ronnie received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. Following this, she taught high school chemistry and biology in New Zealand, then later taught in North Carolina while she obtained her MA degree from Wake Forest University.
During her time at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry, Dr. Ronnie served as her class president. She also traveled to Nepal and Brazil on mission trips to treat under served children in need of dental care.
Dr. Ronnie remains passionate about education and involves patients of all ages in learning about their oral health and dental treatment. Her goal is to help her patients understand the important connection between a healthy mouth and a healthy body.
Advocating for international experiences while in school, Dr. Ronnie also served as the President of the Global Health Student Association and was awarded a Certificate for International Volunteer Service from the American Dental Association Committee on International Programs and Development. She is also a member of the Colorado Dental Association, the American Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
In her free time, Dr. Ronnie loves to hike, camp, kayak, bake, and play the piano. She has always wanted to live in Colorado and is thrilled to be able to work in sight of the mountains that she loves so much.
